Designed and built for robotics company Marine Advanced Robotics, this unusual boat attracted a lot of internet attention. Chatters gave it nicknames such as Skeeter, Mystery Cat, Spider Boat, Strange Boat, Weird Boat, Mystery Craft, 100 ft. long Watchamacallit, until it was formally announced as Proteus.
